Spicing up wedding venues
Lots of men and women dream of getting married one day; thinking of the big dress, the flowers, the exquisite food…but what if you’re not a traditionalist? What’s on the agenda for you?
There are many weird and wacky wedding themes that you can choose from, and all you have to do to make it happen is spice up the wedding venues you choose, tell your guests what to wear (or what not to, in some cases), and match the food/entertainment/dress to the theme.
To help you get started, here are some popular and wacky themes that other people have used for their weddings.
Beach wedding
Go simple, understated but beautiful – head to the beach. Invite only your close family and friends, find some natural flowers, wooden logs and leaves to decorate, and wear a simple dress. This is a great way to have a low-key event, and if you get a sunny day, provides a spectacular backdrop for your big day.
Under the sea
Go old-school prom and use an under the sea theme for your wedding. Use blue and green hues as your colours, and find nautical clothes for you and your partner. Decorate the walls with paper waves, and be sure to offer up some fresh, tasty seafood to get your guests feeling in the mood.
Movie stars
Design your wedding like you would a movie premiere…have a red carpet, a popcorn machine, serve up canapes and wines, and make sure you and your partner look as glamorous as those 50s stars that really went for it. You could also use little clapperboards for the place settings, and get some chandeliers to hang – which’ll give the event a really classy look.
There are so many ideas it can be hard to choose, but if you do lots of research, you’re bound to come across something that’s right for you.
